Ronald Preston Storey
Ronald Preston Storey went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 26, 2018, at Hospice House in Greenville. He was born to Jack and Ruth Storey on August 25, 1940, in Creeksville. In addition to his parents, Ronald was predeceased by his beloved wife, Joyce, and his siblings, J. E. Storey, Parker Storey, Becky Simon, Crethie Spence and Steve Storey.
Ronald was an ironworker for many years, but found his true calling when he went to work for Northampton County as Emergency Services Director and Emergency Management Coordinator, as he was able to show his care and concern for the citizens of Northampton County.
Known for his love of God, family and friends, his generous smile and infectious laughter, he was a great conversationalist who always had a word for anyone he met. His favorite celebration was that of the virgin birth of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Christmas. He enjoyed the Christmas story, the shopping, decorations, family gatherings, and the food. He was a lifelong member of Creeksville Baptist Church and served in many positions including Deacon and Sunday School teacher. He enjoyed welcoming everyone to church and was quick to offer up prayers of praise and thanksgiving to God for His many blessings, as well as prayers for anyone in need.
Ronald is survived by his children, Ronnie Storey and wife, Susan, of Pleasant Hill, Janet Foot and husband, Jason, and Mike Storey and wife, Sandy, all of Creeksville; his sister, Carolyn Thompson; grandchildren, Amanda Dixon (Timmy), Tabitha Storey (Steven), Caleb Shell (Taylor), Greg Outland (Vi), Storie Outland (Trenton), Jordan Martin, Lauren Storey, and Hannah Storey; and great-grandchildren, Arrionna Benton, Kiersten Flythe, Rylan Dixon, Reagan Benton, Bryleigh Dixon, and Ian Outland. Also, surviving are sisters-in-law, Frances Jenkins and Jean Storey; and brother-in-law, Richard Simon.
Services will be held at Creeksville Baptist Church on Monday, October 29, at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Andy Sloan officiating. The family will receive friends at the church for 1 hour prior to the service, and other times at the home.
